We’ve reached our 20-year milestone, and it’s been quite a journey. Starting a carwashing culture in Brisbane was challenging, especially with the city’s good weather and frequent rain. Many enjoyed washing their cars at home, but it wasn’t great for our waterways, with contaminants flowing straight into them.
Our Evolution and
Growth
We began as Handwash Café, evolving into Hoppys with the aim of creating an environmentally friendly brand. Hoppy, our mascot, represents our commitment to the environment and has become a beloved icon. During drought conditions, water restrictions pushed people to our services, helping us grow. Over the years, we’ve introduced various carwashing models: full service, self service, touchfree automatic, and now, express exterior washing, hand and machine wash to clean your car’s exterior in about 5 minutes.

At Hoppys, we balance time, quality, experience, and safety to ensure customer satisfaction. We’re also committed to environmental sustainability, using economical water usage rates, recycling and reusing water, harvesting rainwater, and capturing harmful wastes for proper disposal. Our first gold coast
expansion
We purchased Tranquility Carwash at Mermaid Waters on the Gold Coast, reversing the traffic flow for efficient vacuuming and installing a conveyor production line. This setup allowed us to wash up to 51 vehicles per hour, offering quick, thorough carwashes in under 30 minutes. In 2023 we converted Mermaid Waters to an Express Exterior Carwash, increasing capacity and reducing wait times.
